Make your own way to the station this afternoon and board Via Rail’s ‘The Canadian’ train for the overnight journey from Vancouver to Jasper. Relax in the comfort of your cabin as you watch the spectacular scenery go by. Enjoy dinner in the Dining Car and perhaps a nightcap in the Lounge Car before retiring for the evening.
Awake to the snowy peaks of the Rocky Mountains as you arrive in Jasper. Transfer to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day enjoying the many activities offered at the Lodge. Stay the next two nights at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
This morning, see elk, deer, moose and more on a wildlife tour of Jasper National Park. Learn how these animals contribute to the rich diversity of the park and how they survive in winter. This morning, transfer by coach to the picturesque alpine town of Banff for a two night stay at the “Castle in the Sky”, Fairmont Banff Springs. This afternoon, step aboard your horse-drawn sleigh and glide over sparkling snow as you take in the gorgeous mountain scenery. Travel into the Bow River Valley where the only sounds to disturb the silence are the clomping of hooves and the jingle of the horses’ harness.
Today Snowshoe on an easy trail along a bridge across the frozen Vermilion River and along the snowy path winding through a forest of pine trees to the Paint Pots, a cultural treasure within the National Park. In the afternoon wander downtown for a spot of shopping, perhaps take the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain and experience Nightrise, an immersive light and sound show or enjoy dinner at Sky Bistro.
